The Delhi Assembly has launched an AI-based chatbot, Vidhan Sathi, to assist legislators ahead of its Budget Session scheduled from 23 March to 25 March.
Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said the tool is designed to support Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) with research and information during proceedings.
“The Vidhan Sathi app can be accessed by all MLAs. This will be the country’s first legislative Assembly to have such an AI-enabled tool,” he said.
The chatbot will provide access to parliamentary rules, past debates, committee reports and other official records, and can assist with tasks such as fact-checking and issue analysis.
According to Gupta, the platform is intended to support more informed discussions in the House, particularly on complex policy matters.
The application is available in Hindi and English, and includes voice-enabled features.
Gupta said the tool, which can be accessed through a QR code, will also be integrated with the National e-Vidhan Sabha platform at a later stage.
The Budget Session will include discussions on pending reports, including those from the Comptroller and Auditor General, along with other legislative business and committee matters.
