Nexus Venture Partners, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Menlo Park, California, currently manages around $2.6 billion across multiple funds, with a strong focus on early-stage investments in India and the US. The firm has invested in approximately 379 companies across various sectors, including enterprise software, digital consumer businesses, AI and deep tech, transportation, e-commerce, and health tech.
Its historical average check size is around $2.3 million, with a maximum historical investment of $2.5 billion, highlighting significant capital commitments. Nexus closed its seventh fund at $700 million in 2023 and is preparing to raise an eighth fund of the same size in 2025, demonstrating its strong presence in the venture capital space, supporting transformative technology startups.
Since 2006, it has invested in over 130 early- and growth-stage companies in India, with check sizes typically ranging from $500,000 to $10 million, serving as the first institutional backer. Key Indian portfolios include unicorns such as Zepto (quick commerce), Unacademy (edtech), and Infra.Market (B2B construction), Delhivery (logistics IPO), Rapido (ride-hailing), Headout (travel experiences), Ultrahuman (wearables), Postman (API platform), Hasura (open-source GraphQL), among others.
With 52 portfolio exits to date and offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai, the investor is supporting 6-8 new deals annually.
