Ramesh Lakshminarayanan is group head–information technology and CTO at HDFC Bank, responsible for the bank’s technology strategy, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) solutions adoption.
He joined HDFC Bank in 2020, bringing over 25 years of experience in banking technology and digital innovation. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Mumbai University and an MBA from the University of Pune, he led HDFC Bank’s technology transformation, strengthening core systems and digital capabilities across business verticals. He drove the adoption of AI/ML and advanced analytics to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. He earlier worked as CRISIL’s chief technology and information officer and co-founded Pragmatix Services Pvt. Ltd. He has also held senior leadership roles at Citibank, ABN AMRO Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Group.
