IvyCap Ventures, founded in 2011 by Vikram Gupta and based in Mumbai, has built a distinctive model around India’s engineering alumni networks. The firm invests primarily at the Series A stage across enterprise software, retail and high‑tech innovation, drawing on a network of alumni mentors and limited partners from leading Indian institutes.
The fund recently led a Series B round in digital entertainment platform Rusk Media, joined by Info Edge Ventures and LC Nueva. Its portfolio includes one unicorn, one public listing and nine acquisitions, with BlueStone, Purplle and Bewakoof among the standout names. By leveraging alumni connections, IvyCap offers founders access to customers and experienced mentors as well as capital.
IvyCap manages about $600 million and has a large bench of 24 partners within a 60‑person team. The firm has invested in around 70 companies and continues to raise new capital, having announced a third fund with a significant first close. Its collaborative approach often sees it co‑invest alongside peer early‑stage funds.
