AfterLife, which helps users organize financial, legal, and digital records for secure transfer to beneficiaries, has partnered with conversational AI firm CoRover.ai and its India-trained language model BharatGPT to launch an AI-powered telephony service for digital wills and document vaults.
At the core of the initiative, announced by CoRover and BharatGPT founder Ankush Sabharwal in a LinkedIn post, is AI telephony that guides users step by step, explaining digital wills, organizing financial, legal, medical, and personal records, and addressing security concerns in real time.
Instead of navigating complex apps or legal jargon, users can interact with an AI “guardian” over a call.
A key differentiator is the integration of UPI payments, enabled through PayU and NPCI’s BHIM network, allowing users to complete onboarding and lifetime access payments instantly during the call. This reduces friction and aligns with India’s mobile-first, UPI-driven digital behavior.
“The goal is to simplify planning for the future,” Sabharwal wrote, adding that the collaboration reflects CoRover’s focus on building “AI with purpose and trust.”
Sensitive data is protected using enterprise-grade encryption, with access limited to individuals designated by the user, he said.
A video demonstration shows the AI assistant explaining asset security, encrypted document storage, and dispute-free digital wills before triggering a real-time UPI payment, completing the process in a single interaction.
The collaboration signals a broader shift in India’s AI ecosystem toward practical, high-trust applications in areas such as personal finance, legal tech, and legacy planning.
By combining conversational AI, Indic-language readiness, and UPI-native payments, AfterLife and CoRover are positioning AI telephony as a serious interface for sensitive, real-world use cases beyond customer support.
