Wipro Ltd, one of India’s largest IT services providers, has launched a new hub at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) to expand AI-led services for global banking and financial clients.
The center will support work in digital banking, capital markets, regulatory technology, risk and compliance, and core platform modernization, with AI embedded across financial workflows, the company said.
The hub is aligned with Wipro Intelligence, its suite of AI-powered platforms and offerings.
Wipro said the facility will strengthen its ability to co-innovate with clients and scale secure, domain-led platforms as demand rises for AI-powered transformation in financial services.
“GIFT City-IFSC is fast emerging as a global financial and technology hub, attracting leading enterprises from around the world,” said Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Harsh Sanghavi.
Sanjeev Jain, Wipro’s Chief Operating Officer, said the center is a strategic investment to expand the reach of Wipro Intelligence in the global banking, financial services and insurance, or BFSI, sector.
“By combining our consulting-led, AI-powered transformation and delivery capabilities with deep domain expertise and a strong innovation culture, we are enabling deeper client engagement and long-term value creation,” he said.
The hub will start with 150 seats and can scale to 500 based on client demand. Wipro also said the center will help it tap Gujarat’s talent pool as it builds capabilities for the next phase of AI-led transformation in financial services.
