Karnataka is seeking closer technology and investment ties with Poland, Sweden and Bulgaria, focusing on research, advanced manufacturing, startups and talent development ahead of Bengaluru Tech Summit 2026.
The summit, scheduled for November 17-19, is expected to attract participants from more than 75 countries.
Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge and Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar met Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and his delegation on Friday, October 23, to discuss cooperation in investment, technology and industry.
At the India-Poland Business Forum, Kharge highlighted Karnataka’s technology talent, startup ecosystem, global capability centers (GCCs) and research capabilities. Discussions covered skills development, university partnerships, joint intellectual property development and improved market access.
“Poland is one of Europe’s great growth stories and Karnataka one of Asia’s,” Kharge wrote, adding that the two regions could deepen their partnership through their innovation ecosystems.
In a separate meeting with Swedish Ambassador Petra Menander, Kharge discussed cooperation in technology, research, advanced manufacturing, clean energy and startups.
He said Karnataka accounts for 25% of Swedish investment in India, while 61% of Swedish companies operating in the state are looking to expand.
“With a strong Swedish business presence already here, we look forward to building more partnerships across technology, R&D, advanced manufacturing, clean energy and startups,” he posted.
Kharge also met Bulgarian Ambassador to India Nikolay Yankov to explore areas of cooperation and present Karnataka’s technology and investment ecosystem. The state invited Bulgaria to participate in the summit and pursue cooperation through its Global Innovation Alliance program.
