Ajay Kumar Sood brings scientific depth to India’s technology-policy establishment. As Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and chair of the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council, he is involved in shaping national research and innovation priorities. 

His long academic career in physics and quantum materials gives him grounding in fundamental science at a time when AI policy is increasingly linked to national missions, scientific capability and strategic technology development.
