The Andhra Pradesh state government and Google have agreed to set up a joint task force to identify opportunities for collaboration in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital governance and digital infrastructure development.

The decision was taken during a meeting between state Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Karan Bhatia, President of Google Asia-Pacific, in Singapore on Monday.

Discussions focused on positioning Andhra Pradesh as a hub for AI, data centers and digital services, the Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement.

Naidu invited Google to support the state’s digital governance initiatives and explore the use of AI and cloud technologies to improve public service delivery.

The state also sought Google’s participation in AI-skilling and cloud-certification programs as it expands AI and cloud computing centers across universities and engineering colleges.

Naidu highlighted the state’s efforts to build renewable energy capacity and digital infrastructure to support data centers and other technology-intensive industries. He also invited Google to collaborate on the Sanjeevani project, a digital healthcare initiative aimed at improving access to healthcare services.

Separately, Naidu met Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, and invited the organization to set up a Centre of Excellence in Andhra Pradesh. Discussions covered urban planning, sustainable development, municipal finance and support for rapidly growing cities across the state.
