Andhra Pradesh Leads AI Skills Certifications
The state recorded 108,895 completions or certifications, ahead of Maharashtra, Telangana and Karnataka under FutureSkills PRIME.

Andhra Pradesh recorded the highest number of artificial intelligence and big-data course completions or certifications under FutureSkills PRIME over the past three years, according to Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology data presented in Parliament.
Of the 153,783 candidates enrolled or trained in the state, 108,895 completed training or received certification, data tabled in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, 12 August.
Tamil Nadu had more enrolments, at 161,190, but Andhra Pradesh led in completions and certifications. Maharashtra recorded 45,277, Telangana 45,250 and Karnataka 34,790.
The numbers offer a measure of formal technology training rather than employment outcomes. They do not show how many certified candidates subsequently moved into AI-related jobs, what roles they secured or whether employers consider the qualifications sufficient for technical positions.
FutureSkills PRIME is run by MeitY in partnership with Nasscom and covers areas including artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity, blockchain, internet of things and augmented and virtual reality.
Across all emerging-technology categories, more than 434,000 candidates have enrolled or undergone training in Andhra Pradesh under the programme.
Nationally, FutureSkills PRIME has recorded more than 3.4 million registrations, about 2.3 million enrolled or trained candidates and over 1.3 million certifications. Around 86% of participants come from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, according to government figures.
Andhra Pradesh’s training network includes the NIELIT centre in Tirupati, 22 Digital Literacy Course facilitation centres and two accredited skill centres.
The certification numbers come as the state seeks technology investments around Visakhapatnam and Amaravati and promotes sectors including AI and quantum computing.
