Ankur Capital, founded in 2013 and based in Mumbai, backs technology and impact businesses that sit at the intersection of food and agriculture, deep tech and enterprise solutions. It focuses on the seed stage and aims to support innovations that address underserved markets. By mid‑2025 the firm had invested in around three dozen companies.
The venture fund recently led a $2.6 million seed round in fintech startup Saswat Finance alongside Incubate Fund India, with participation from Sparrow Capital. Previous exits include ed‑tech platform MyCaptain and snack company To Be Honest, highlighting its ability to nurture early‑stage ventures to acquisition. The current portfolio includes agritech firm Captain Fresh and SaaS startup Krishify.
Ankur Capital manages about $200 million and employs 27 people, including four partners. It has participated in 61 funding rounds and frequently collaborates with peer seed funds such as Wellfound. Its focus on digital and scientific innovation for underserved sectors continues to resonate with founders.
