Bengaluru Tech Summit Gets a Bigger Stage

  • Bengaluru is gearing up to stage the 28th edition of Asia’s largest technology event, the Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS), with a bigger stage and a bolder vision. 

    Announced on Monday by Karnataka state IT Minister Priyank Kharge, the summit will run from 18–20 November, adding to the city’s calendar of global technology events.

    For the first time, BTS will move to the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), an eco-conscious, metro-connected venue with expansive exhibition halls and advanced conference facilities. The shift signals a bold expansion to meet soaring demand and reflect the summit’s global stature.

    This year’s edition will be its largest yet, drawing 100,000 attendees, including 20,000+ startup founders, 1,000+ investors, 15,000+ delegates, 600+ speakers, and 1,200+ exhibitors, the organizers said. The program features 100+ knowledge sessions, 5,000+ curated meetings, and participation from 60+ countries alongside all 36 Indian states and Union territories.

    The theme, “Futurise,” calls on participants to imagine, innovate, and implement technologies that will shape the decades ahead. The 10 conference tracks will span IT & DeepTech, Electro-Semicon, Digital Health & Biotech, Startup Ecosystem, Global Collaboration, and the India–USA Tech Conclave, with new segments including AI Universe, Finverse, Defence & Spacetech, and My Planet My Future. The Future Makers Conclave will gather 20,000+ startup founders to celebrate changemakers, entrepreneurs, adventurers, artists, and pioneers.

    The exhibition floor will be the largest yet, spanning multiple pavilions across diverse sectors and technologies. Minister-led country delegations under the Global Innovation Alliance will advance cross-border partnerships, knowledge exchange, and co-creation.

    Startups will benefit from the Startup Springboard, offering them investor connect, mentors, a dedicated pavilion, scaling workshops, and the coveted Startup Awards. Other highlights include the Rural IT Quiz, Bio Quiz, Bio Posters, IT, Bio and Exhibitor Awards, and the Global Leaders Reception.

    Breakfast with the Chief Minister

    Earlier on Monday, 200 top CEOs joined a breakfast meet with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. Leaders from industry bodies Nasscom, IESA, TiE Bangalore, ABLE, and ABAI discussed Karnataka’s tech road map with industry captains from IT and DeepTech, Biotech and HealthTech, Electronics and Semiconductors, Defence and Space Tech, FinTech, and AVGC.

    “Karnataka has always been more than a participant in India’s growth story. we have been its pioneer,” Siddaramaiah said, “From launching India’s first IT policy in 1997 to unveiling the country’s first state Quantum Technology Roadmap in 2024, we have consistently anticipated and prepared for the future.” 

    “With 44% of India’s software exports, over 18,300 startups, 875+ global capability centres, and nearly half of the nation’s AI talent, we are not just embracing emerging technologies; we are defining them,” Siddaramaiah said, adding: “Our mission is to make Karnataka the place the world looks to for leadership in innovation, talent, and technology.”

    Senior bureaucrat and Secretary in the state department of electronics, IT, biotechnology and science and technology Ekroop Caur presented the ‘Action Taken Report’ from last year’s CM Breakfast Meet, highlighting the government’s commitment to transparent, outcome-driven engagement with industry. 

    She also launched KATALYST, a dedicated ease of doing business cell for GCCs the state’s GCC Policy 2024–2029, aimed at streamlining investments and strengthening industry ties.
