  • Emergent, an Indian startup building an AI-driven vibe-coding platform, has raised $70 million in a Series B round just months after closing a $23 million Series A.

The financing was led jointly by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Khosla Ventures, TechCrunch reported, citing people familiar with the deal.

The deal values Emergent at about $300 million, up from $100 million after its previous round. Other investors including Prosus, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Together and Y Combinator also participated.

Founded less than a year ago, Emergent has now raised close to $100 million in total. The company said it has reached $50 million in annual recurring revenue and has more than five million users across 190 countries. It is targeting annual recurring revenue of more than $100 million by April 2026.

Founder Mukund Jha told TechCrunch that usage has been strongest in the US, Europe and India, and said the firm “plans to expand further in these markets.” He added that a recently launched mobile app development feature has seen early traction.

Although Emergent is headquartered in San Francisco, most of its employees are based in India. About 70 of its 75 staff work from Bengaluru.

The startup competes with a growing set of AI-driven development platforms including Lovable, Cursor and Replit, which have expanded rapidly as advances in AI lower the technical barriers to building software.
