  • Eternal founder and vice chairman Deepinder Goyal has unveiled Dark.ai, a privacy-focused artificial intelligence assistant designed to keep user conversations confidential, with a global launch planned by the end of 2026.

Goyal first teased the product in a LinkedIn post, writing: “Dark.ai – from the house of Eternal. Coming soon.”

He subsequently outlined the product’s purpose in Eternal’s September-quarter shareholder update, published on Wednesday, October 21.

Dark.ai is being developed for users who want to discuss sensitive information, personal matters or confidential business ideas without worrying about their conversations being stored or accessed by others.

“I wanted an AI which I could talk to without being judged, without any fear, and without leaving a trace,” Goyal said.

The assistant will use fine-tuned open-weight AI models, end-to-end encryption and an encrypted memory system controlled by users. Eternal says the architecture will prevent even the company from accessing conversations.

The service is undergoing internal testing. Eternal plans to publish performance benchmarks, although pricing and a specific launch date have not been announced.

Dark.ai extends Eternal’s AI ambitions beyond its existing businesses, including Zomato, Blinkit, Hyperpure and District. The company has also developed Nugget, an AI-powered customer support platform.

The lack of details has pushed for a guessing game about Dark.ai. One user on X wrote, “My guess: Dark.ai is an AI-native food ordering agent.”

The user raised the possibility that Eternal could be building “the next evolution of food delivery”, where customers rely on AI to find suitable meals and manage the ordering process rather than browsing restaurant listings themselves.

Another user proposed a different theory, suggesting Dark could be a premium offering aimed at Eternal’s most loyal customers.

“My guess: Dark is Eternal’s premium layer. Black usually signals exclusivity. Could this be something for Eternal’s most loyal customers, or a new premium offering?” the commenter asked Goyal, adding, “Are we getting warmer?”

Other commenters have floated possibilities that go beyond food delivery and customer loyalty, including a product focused on personal knowledge and AI.

One user posed a series of questions about what Dark.ai could be: “Second brain? Repository of thoughts? Note taker? Extension of Temple? AI model?”

Separately, Goyal is developing Temple, an experimental wearable designed to track changes in blood flow to the brain. Temple is scheduled to open pre-orders on November 1, with six color options available for its initial release.
