Conversational AI platform Gupshup has raised over $60 million in a fresh funding round led by Globespan Capital Partners and EvolutionX Debt Capital, as the company looks to expand aggressively across India, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa.
The round includes a mix of equity and debt financing and is aimed at accelerating both product innovation and enterprise adoption.
Headquartered in San Francisco and Mumbai, Gupshup powers over 120 billion messages annually for more than 50,000 customers in 130 countries. Its platform enables businesses to automate complex customer interactions across marketing, sales, and support, with offerings that go beyond basic chatbots to domain-specific AI agents capable of handling end-to-end conversations.
“This funding positions us to capture the global opportunity as AI agents become business-critical infrastructure,” said Beerud Sheth, Founder and CEO of Gupshup. “Businesses recognize that conversational AI is driving enormous competitive advantages through superior customer experiences.”
The company plans to deepen its presence in high-growth markets by scaling adoption of its AI Agent suite, which includes solutions such as Click-to-Chat ads, Campaign CoPilot, Agent Assist, and personalized conversation workflows.
With enterprises under pressure to enhance customer engagement while managing costs, Gupshup’s tools offer an automation layer that blends human-like interaction with business logic.
Investor interest reflects the growing strategic value of conversational AI in enterprise transformation.
“From India to UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil, Gupshup’s Conversation Cloud and AI Agents are transforming customer and employee interactions,” said Andy Goldfarb, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Globespan Capital Partners. “They’re building the foundation for AI-powered messaging at scale.”
Rahul Shah, Partner at EvolutionX, added that Gupshup’s leadership through successive waves of messaging, from SMS to rich media and now AI, made it well-placed to lead the next phase of digital engagement across sectors such as finance, commerce, and mobility.
The funding comes at a moment when generative AI is reshaping customer expectations and prompting companies to rethink service delivery.
Gupshup’s model focuses on tailoring conversational flows to industry-specific use cases such as loan origination, travel booking, or order tracking using domain-trained agents that can operate across channels like WhatsApp, RCS, Instagram, and voice.
The company was also named Meta’s Partner of the Year, underscoring its scale in business messaging, particularly on WhatsApp.
