Mumbai-listed gaming firm Nazara Technologies Ltd agreed to acquire a controlling stake in mobile gaming companies Bluetile Games S.L. and BestPlay Systems S.L. for about $100 million, expanding its global gaming footprint and strengthening its push into AI-led development.
The company will acquire a 50% stake in the two firms through its UK subsidiary, with options to buy the remaining stake by 2028, according to a statement.
Bluetile operates a portfolio of casual and social mobile games with about 375 million downloads and 22 million monthly active users across 17 titles, while BestPlay runs a rewarded engagement platform with about 2.2 million monthly users.
Together, the businesses reported revenue of about $154 million and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, or Ebitda, of $27.7 million for the year ended December 2025.
The transaction also includes performance-linked earn-outs of up to about $98 million, tied to revenue and profit targets over the next few years.
Chief Executive Officer Nitish Mittersain said the acquisition would strengthen Nazara’s capabilities across game development, player engagement and distribution, while adding an AI-driven operating layer to its global gaming portfolio.
Bluetile has embedded artificial intelligence across game development, marketing and live operations, using AI-assisted pipelines to shorten development cycles and improve player retention, the company said.
The deal comes as gaming companies increasingly use AI tools to accelerate content creation, reduce development costs and improve player retention, intensifying competition in the global mobile gaming market.
Founded by former Google executive Raymond Stauffer, Bluetile has built a platform combining game development with in-house distribution and user acquisition tools, allowing it to scale titles across markets.
The acquisition for Nazara, which operates titles such as World Cricket Championship and Kiddopia, adds a global content pipeline and engagement platform as it seeks to expand beyond India and deepen its presence in casual and social gaming.
