Paytm has announced a partnership with US-based Groq to incorporate real-time artificial intelligence technology into its payments and financial services platform. The collaboration focuses on improving the speed, efficiency, and reliability of Paytm’s systems, including transaction processing, fraud detection, and customer support.
Under the agreement, Paytm will deploy GroqCloud, which uses Groq’s Linear Processing Unit (LPU) chips built for high-speed AI inference. The company said this will enable faster and more cost-effective processing compared to traditional GPU-based systems.
“We have been steadily advancing our AI capabilities to make payments faster, more reliable, and deeply intelligent,” said Narendra Singh Yadav, Chief Business Officer at Paytm. “This collaboration with Groq strengthens our technology foundation.”
Groq’s Asia-Pacific General Manager Scott Albin noted that the company is “proud to support Paytm in driving real-time AI innovation at national scale,” adding that Groq’s mission is to expand compute capacity to tackle large-scale challenges.
The integration is expected to help Paytm process payments more quickly, improve risk modeling, and enhance fraud prevention mechanisms. It also aligns with Paytm’s wider strategy to expand its use of artificial intelligence across business functions.
Paytm executives have said that AI-based products could also create new revenue streams for the company, beyond improving operational efficiency. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed.
