Tata Electronics and Germany’s Robert Bosch GmbH have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on semiconductor manufacturing and automotive electronics in India, the companies said on Thursday.
The agreement, signed by Tata Electronics CEO and MD Dr Randhir Thakur and Bosch Executive VP Dirk Kress, outlines joint initiatives in chip packaging and manufacturing at Tata’s upcoming assembly and test facility in Assam and its foundry in Gujarat.
The two firms will also explore opportunities in electronic manufacturing services for vehicle electronics.
Dr Thakur said the partnership will strengthen Bosch’s supply chain for key technologies and help position India’s electronics sector as a global leader.
Kress highlighted the rising demand for advanced automotive electronics and called the tie‑up with Tata a step toward resilient supply chains and closer local collaboration.
Tata Electronics, part of the Tata Group, has rapidly scaled up its presence in semiconductors and electronics since its 2020 founding and currently employs over 65,000 people across operations in Gujarat, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Bosch, founded in 1886, is a global technology supplier with over €90 billion in annual sales and operations spanning mobility, industrial, consumer goods, and energy solutions.
The companies did not disclose financial terms of the collaboration.
