MIT Sloan Management Review India, in collaboration with IDfy, will release a new study on how Indian enterprises are operationalizing data privacy under the country’s evolving regulatory regime at a closed-door leadership forum in Mumbai on Thursday, 29 January.
The study, titled ‘Privacy Maturity in India: Insights and Benchmarks,’ examines how large Indian organizations are structuring privacy governance, integrating consent management, and assessing the role of privacy across compliance, risk management, and strategic decision-making following the notification of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and its operational rules.
Based on a primary survey of senior executives across data-intensive sectors, including banking and financial services, e-commerce, retail, healthcare, technology, media, and telecommunications, the research seeks to map the current state of privacy maturity in Indian enterprises and place it in the context of global privacy frameworks.
The findings will be unveiled at “Privacy After Hours: Beyond Consent Edition,” an invite-only, closed-door conversation hosted at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel and Residences.
The program will feature three leadership discussions focused on early execution priorities under India’s new data protection framework, incident readiness, and the evolving business implications of privacy.
The study is positioned as an enterprise-focused examination of how privacy programs are being implemented in practice, rather than a legal or compliance guide, and is intended for senior leaders responsible for data governance, technology, risk, and business strategy.
