Venkatesh Natarajan is a digital pioneer in India’s automotive sector, having served for over 22 years as president of IT and chief digital officer at Ashok Leyland. He has been pivotal in transforming the company from a manufacturing-led to a digital-first enterprise.
His accomplishments include leading the SAP ERP migration across 10 plants and 100+ locations, launching the iAlert connected vehicle platform, and driving adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, AI, analytics, and digital marketplaces like Leykart. Natarajan has also cultivated data-driven culture and agile teams across the organization.
He previously held a senior role at BEML Ltd. An engineering graduate with multiple advanced degrees in Maintenance Engineering, Computer Programming, and Engineering Management, all from Mysore University, Natarajan is a recipient of several industry honors including the SAP ACE and CIO100 awards.
