  • HCLTech has partnered with Red Hat to help enterprises deploy and manage AI workloads across data centers, cloud and edge environments, as Indian IT services firms race to defend their role in enterprise AI implementation.

The collaboration will add Red Hat AI Enterprise to HCLTech’s AI Factory, the company’s platform for production-grade AI infrastructure and operations. HCLTech said the combined offering is designed to improve infrastructure efficiency, reduce inference costs and provide governance and lineage for enterprise AI deployments.

The tie-up comes at a sensitive moment for Indian IT services companies. Shares of major IT firms have fallen sharply this week after OpenAI launched its $4 billion AI Deployment Company, raising investor concerns that AI-native firms could move directly into enterprise implementation work traditionally handled by systems integrators.

HCLTech’s Red Hat partnership positions the company on the other side of that disruption, as a provider of the infrastructure, governance and operations layer needed to move AI from pilots into production.

HCLTech says its AI Factory is meant to give enterprises a common foundation for AI data center design, managed AI infrastructure, platform operations and governance across private, public, edge, hybrid and sovereign environments.

“Enterprises are moving beyond experimentation to operationalizing AI across their core businesses,” said Rampal Singh, Senior Vice-President and Global Business Head, Hybrid Cloud Business Unit, HCLTech. “The HCLTech AI Factory with Red Hat is designed to help organizations industrialize AI, bringing together the right foundational building blocks to translate AI investments into measurable business outcomes.”

The partnership also builds on an existing HCLTech-Red Hat relationship across hybrid cloud, modernized virtualization and generative AI. Red Hat’s ecosystem catalog says the two companies already work together to help enterprises adopt technologies including hybrid cloud automation, virtualization and gen AI.

HCLTech said the new offering will use model optimization, distributed serving and unified operations to support AI workloads.

The company’s broader AI Factory platform claims a 35% to 40% improvement in GPU utilization, 40% to 60% faster production rollout of AI use cases and a 30% to 45% reduction in platform engineering and operations effort.

“The launch of HCLTech AI Factory, powered by Red Hat AI Enterprise, is a significant milestone in bringing enterprise-grade AI to our customers,” said Ryan King, Vice-President, AI and Infrastructure Partners at Red Hat. “By building on the trusted foundation of Red Hat AI Enterprise and our full portfolio of enterprise-grade, AI-optimized open source software, HCLTech is providing organizations with a unified, scalable platform to deploy and manage their critical AI workloads consistently, from the core data center to the edge.”

HCLTech is also positioning AI Factory alongside AI Foundry, its enterprise-scale data and AI managed services solution.

AI Foundry is designed to help organizations modernize data, simplify insights and scale AI responsibly, with HCLTech claiming up to 50% faster time to production and 45% lower platform management costs.

HCLTech has more than 227,000 employees across 60 countries and reported consolidated revenue of $14.7 billion for the 12 months ended March 2026.
