Zia J. Mody is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of AZB and Partners, one of India’s leading corporate law firms. She founded the practice in the early 2000s after beginning her legal career at Baker and McKenzie in New York, building AZB into a firm known for complex mergers and acquisitions, private equity and capital markets advisory.
Mody has advised major global and domestic private equity firms and corporations on cross-border transactions, joint ventures and restructuring mandates. Her work spans corporate law, foreign investment regulations and high-value strategic transactions in India.
She holds a law degree from the University of Cambridge and an LLM from Harvard Law School and is a member of the New York State Bar. Over the years, she has been consistently ranked among India’s top corporate lawyers by international legal directories.
