Nivruti Rai has served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Invest India, the national investment promotion and facilitation agency under India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, since 12 July 2023. Invest India steers foreign investment facilitation, policy coordination and market entry support for global and domestic investors across sectors including electronics, manufacturing, energy and startups.

Before joining Invest India, Rai spent nearly 29 years at Intel, where she held senior leadership roles including Country Head of Intel India and Vice-President of Intel Foundry Services. During her tenure, she drove growth and investment into India’s R&D and technology ecosystem, contributed to indigenous technology development, and played a role in shaping emerging tech policy areas such as semiconductors and AI.

Rai was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, and began her career in engineering and technology after her education in mathematics and engineering in India and the United States. She is a recipient of the Nari Shakti Puraskar, India’s highest civilian award for women, recognizing her contributions to technology leadership and ecosystem development.
