At a time when India’s energy ambitions are expanding beyond megawatts to encompass sustainability and resilience, Parminder Chopra stands at the helm of that transformation. As Chairman and Managing Director of Power Finance Corporation (PFC), she leads one of the country’s most influential power-sector lenders, directing capital towards both infrastructure growth and the clean-energy transition.
Chopra, with 37 years in power and finance, brings dual expertise to PFC, which has grown funding for clean energy, biofuels, renewables, and manufacturing, solidifying its role in India’s energy shift. Under her, PFC reached record net profit and worth, highlighting strong financial stewardship and strategic growth.
She has also supported major Government of India initiatives, including the revamped distribution sector scheme and the enforcement of late-payment surcharge rules. Her key achievements include founding PFC Infra Finance IFSC Limited, the first finance company in IFSC focused on power and infrastructure lending, and establishing a dedicated ESG unit to embed sustainability practices.
