Vartika Shukla leads Engineers India Limited (EIL). As a former Chairman and Managing Director, she brings more than three decades of experience across the hydrocarbon value chain, along with a growing focus on transition fuels and clean energy.
An IIT Kanpur chemical engineering graduate with executive management training from IIM Lucknow, she began her journey at EIL in 1988 as a management trainee and rose through technical and consulting roles to the top position. Over 34 years, Shukla has worked on the implementation of major refinery, petrochemical, and fertilizer projects in India and overseas, while also helping build in-house engineering and technology capabilities.
Beyond corporate leadership, Shukla has contributed to national-level policy discussions, including the Auto Fuel Vision, National Biofuel Policy, and long-term roadmaps for the refining and petrochemical sectors.
She serves on several key boards and industry forums, including the Oil Industry Development Board under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, and is actively engaged in strengthening industry–academia collaborations to support indigenous technology development.
